Lewis Brown

Lewis has worked with and for TfL in a variety of roles since 2006 and has acted as a Trustee Director for the TfL Pension Fund since 2010.   

Lewis is the current Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, and a sitting member of the Operations and Investment Committees, bringing his multidisciplinary skillset to those areas.   

With a keen interest in the evolving Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) elements of investment management, Lewis looks forward to facing the challenges that the next decade will bring. 

Stephen Ellaby is TSSA elected and nominated Trustee Director of the TfL Pension Scheme, from 2009.  As Actuarial Valuation Committee member since 2011, Stephen has supported three Triennial Valuations, making input to Employer Covenant issues. As Appeals Committee member since 2015, Stephen adjudicates over member appeals. Stephen has shaped equalities input within the TSSA response to a government-instigated review of the Fund. Stephen is active in TUC and Committee on Workers’ Capital (CWC) initiatives to grow ‘Social’ footprint of ESG within Fund investments.  

Stephen is a long-standing trade unionist and has worked at TfL as a Chartered safety practitioner since 2000 and prior to that undertook train operator and station operational roles within London Underground Limited. 

Paul is an elected pensioner representative and is a member of both the TfL Pension Consultative Council and the TfL Pensioners Forum.  

He has been a Trustee Director since 2014 and sits on the Investment and Appeals Committees.  

Paul worked for TfL and its predecessors for 32 years. For the last 10 years of his career, he was a General Manager in Railway Operations in roles that included General Manager of the Metropolitan Line and Head of Operational Upgrades. 

Joined London Undergound in 1985 as a Railman and then Station supervisor. Left LUL in 2013 to become RMT London Transport Regional Organiser.  

Been active trade unionist all my life NUR and since 1990 RMT member. Was Railway Pension trustee (RMT Nominee on management committee ) for London Overground 2013 to 2022 ,  LOROL and then ARL. Former RMT National president and twice served on RMT NEC.  

Chris joined London Transport in 1963 as a Graduate Trainee Civil Engineer. He progressed through design, construction site management to Design Team Leader, mainly on Rail Bridge renewals, becoming a Chartered Civil Engineer in 1970. Later he changed careers into management training, designing and running courses - many residential - for staff at all levels within LT.  

Chris first became a member nominated trustee of the LT 1970 Superannuation Fund in 1983, continuing as a Trade Union [TSSA] nominated foundation Trustee of the TfL Pension Fund, until 1995.  

As a pensioner, he was re-elected as a Trustee of the Fund in 2005. He served on the Audit and Investment Committees and was a founder member of the Alternatives and Liability Hedging Committee. He was also a member, briefly Chair, of the Operations Committee, being influential in 2006 in the separation off of  Actuarial Valuation into a new Actuarial Valuation Committee (AVC). He has been Vice Chair of the AVC since its inception, and it is now the sole committee of which he is a member. 

I joined the TfL Pension Scheme in 2008 and have worked in various roles in both LU and TfL – presently being in Contract Management.

I have legal and audit qualifications and experience.

I also possess experience of governance and committee structures having previously been a member of the Audit Committee of a further education college in London.

First elected to the Pensions Consultative Council - The PCC in 2001, Paul is the London Underground Current Members- Staff Side   PCC -   Nominee   on the (TfL Pension Fund)  Trustee Board of  Directors.  

Appointed as a Director of Trustee in June 2008. Paul has a wealth of Trustee experience. Formerly Vice Chair of the Appeals and Operations Committees 2013 -2014, Paul has chaired the Operations Committee since July 2015(+8 years); is also a long-standing member of the Investment Committee (since 2008) and is also a member of the Alternative Investment    Committee -ALHC (since 2015).  

Where possible and as time permits, Paul also takes a keen interest in the activities of the Audit & Risk and Actuarial Valuation Committees besides his 3 current   mandated Committee ships.   

By way of his regular day job. Paul works on the Piccadilly Line as an Instructor trainside based at Northfields Depot. 

Paul is also a current RMT Representative on the Pensions Working Group - PWG.     

Unite the Union, member nominated TfL PF Trustee Director since 2002, Chair of the Funds: Investment Committee and,  Vice Chair of the Alternative & Liability Hedging Committee. Member of the Accounting For Sustainability (A4S), Asset Owners Network:  Asset Owners Network link 

Unite representative on the TfL Pension Working Group, in relation to employer consultation on pension matters.  An Apprenticeship served Mechanical Fitter by trade with London Underground Ltd.(LUL). Currently employed as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for LUL Workshops dept.
