Missing membership

This is an employer issue, identified initially through the Pensions Consultative Council (PCC) and the Pensions Working Group (PWG).

This only affects some members who were either initially employed on a fixed term contract before becoming permanent or whose permanent employment commenced with a training period and did not join the Pension Fund at their earliest opportunity. Please note that any period of fixed term contract service is non pensionable and is not part of this exercise.

Having consulted with the Pensions Working Group, the Pensions Consultative Council and Pensioners Forum, TfL and LUL presented a proposal to the Trustees for resolution.

The Trustees subsequently reached agreement with TfL and LUL in relation to the funding of the additional liability, and a communications exercise with potentially affected members commenced.
